Here at Nanora hair we use the beautiful Cezanne Keratin smoothing range. We have 4 types of smoothing available. Depending on your hair type, the required effect, the longevity you require, the time you have available, and even your budget.
A wonderful benefit of keratin smoothing is the time-saving it affords. If you’re used to spending far more time than you’d like to when straightening your hair with an iron, then this treatment could be a life-saver. It’s thought that treatment can shorten blow-dry time by up to 60%.
Perhaps best of all, Cezanne’s product is a completely natural way of smoothing. It is free from formaldehyde and other harmful toxins. And yet, you don’t need to sacrifice on effectiveness—Cezanne Cassic Smoothing treatment will last between three to five months, when using a good home care routine.
Instead of chemicals, Cezanne uses sericin, aloe vera, keratin and glycolic acid to restore bonds and strengthen hair. Sericin is a completely natural protein that is produced by silk worms. The sericin seals in moisture and helps to bond the proteins, which creates a smoother, straighter look. Cezanne is the only hair product to use this protein. Glycolic acid has been around for years and is a recognised anti-aging treatment. It is absorbed into the shaft of the hair and helps to add the manageability and strength that we’re all looking for. It also protects hair from heat so it’s a great treatment for your hair as the weather starts to heat up.
The treatment is full of vitamins, including C, E, B3, B5, B6 and extracts of green tea, lemon, apple and sugar cane, all of which enrich your hair.

Cezanne Classic
This beautiful treatment involves no vapours or smoke meaning you don’t need any masks, gloves or ventilation. Just sit back and enjoy some you time and in approx 90-120 mins you’ll have a smooth head of hair to enjoy for the next 16-20 weeks.
Cezanne Express Plus
Is Ideal for clients with dry, brittle bleached blonde locks? Why not kill two birds with one stone (so to speak!), and take advantage of the ultimate hair treatment package: Nanora Express treatment teamed with a SMARTBOND stand alone treatment. You’ll leave our salon with not only beautifully sleek and smooth hair, but hair that is also amazingly strong and healthy.

This a great option for clients who don’t have the time or maybe the budget .The treatment experience is very similar to that of the traditional Cezanne treatment. There is still no vapours or smoke meaning you don’t need any masks, gloves or ventilation. Just sit back and in approx 60- 90 mins you’ll have a smooth head of hair to enjoy for the next 8-10 weeks
Cezanne instant
This treatment can be added to your blow-dry and lasts approx 2-4 weeks. This is a great option if you have never tried or been to scared to try a keratin smoothing.

No, our Cezanne keratin smoothing treatment will not straighten or relax your hair. In situations where straightening occurs, we consider this a bonus—it’s certainly not the main aim of the treatment. Once you eliminate frizz, your hair will appear softer and smoother, which can give the illusion of straighter hair.
No, Cezanne keratin smoothing will not flatten your hair. It will leave you with your natural volume. Your hair may appear to have less volume for one to two weeks after your treatment but most of your natural volume will return. Please be aware that a reduction in frizz may seem like it is a reduction in volume. Smoother hair looks flatter.
No, our smoothing system is 100% formaldehyde-free and non-toxic.
For most people having the classic, you’ll see the best results from your keratin smoothing treatment for 3 months. However, you may see some results for up to 6 months.
Yes, to a degree. While most people absolutely love the results, there is a small percentage of people who need more than 1 treatment to experience the total magic of keratin smoothing.
If you have extra frizzy, broken and bleached hair, you are likely see good results after just one treatment. Consecutive treatments will deliver better and better results, each time. If you have course or thick frizzy hair. We also recommend follow up treatments every 3 months, building up the effect in your hair, to dramatically reduce frizz with each visit.
- Curl is not frizz.
- Wavy hair is not frizz.
- Broken and damaged hair is not frizz.
- Short or broken hair around there hairline is not frizz.
- Volume is not frizz.
- Hair that is split and damaged at the ends, and needs to be cut, is not frizz.
All of the above points may seem like frizz but they aren’t. As such, keratin smoothing will have minimal effect on all these factors.
Frizz is a texture of the hair that keratin smoothing will reduce. The frizzier the hair, the more regular treatments you may need to achieve success.
We have 4 different smoothing treatments available, which your technician may recommend. If your hair is colour treated, bleached or quite damaged, you may need a different smoothing package.
Please don’t be confused about the different packages we offer. You can always book a regular keratin treatment. Then, during your appointment, we can recommend the most beneficial package for your hair.
Keep in mind that if your technician recommends a different treatment to the one you have booked, you are not obligated to go ahead with it. However, by opting not to accept your technician’s advice, the life and success of your smoothing treatment may be affected.
If you are using low-quality shampoo and conditioner or styling products (especially products that are high in silicon), you must detox your hair for 1 week prior to your appointment. Low quality shampoos affect the success and longevity of your keratin treatment. Instead, you will need to use a care regimen that we recommend for 1 week prior to your appointment.
We recommend at least one week after your keratin smoothing treatment.
Yes, a maximum of half a shade. Smoothing treatments contain the natural active ingredient glycolic acid, which may lighten your hair a small amount. If you are an artificial blonde or red head, the treatment may remove your toner and fade your vibrant colour. This is why why we recommend fresh colouring of the hair a week after your treatment.
Keratin smoothing will cosmetically give your hair the appearance of smoother, better hair. However, it’s important to remember that once the hair is damaged, it remains damaged. We are effectively treating the hair to reduce the appearance of that damage.
Yes, there are factors that can effect the life and success of your treatment. We recommend that you keep the following in mind to get the best out of your Cezanne keratin smoothing:
- Using low-quality shampoo and conditioner and styling products. We use and recommend Kevin Murphy along with Repair by Eleven.
- Sulphate and paraben-free products must be used, and the brand must be approved by your Nanora technician if you don’t purchase from us.
- Excess (more than once a week) straightening and the use of hot-tools will decrease the life of your treatment.
- Chlorine will reduce the life of your smoothing treatment.
- Excess washing. More than a couple of times a week will reduce the life of your smoothing treatment.
- Sun exposure. This applies mostly in an Australian summer. Prolonged exposure to the sun will reduce the life of your keratin smoothing treatment.
- Saltwater and the beach. Although it is better than a chlorinated pool. Swimming of any sort will reduce the life of your smoothing treatment.
Once you leave our salon, your hair will feel a little tacky, as we need to keep some of the keratin smoothing product in the hair to make it work. This will disappear once you wash your hair. We require you to wait 2 – 3 days before washing your hair with your Nanora approved products.
